Planning for health care and financial decision-making is of increasing concern to clients and the public.

This course will help you become familiar with the legal framework of health care and financial decision-making. Topics will include Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD), recent case law, tips for drafting relevant planning documents, and issues that can arise with committeeships and planning for persons with disabilities. You will hear from both lawyers and physicians about the day-to-day workings of the health-care system and its challenges.

After this course, you will be more comfortable in assisting your clients through this difficult and deeply personal area of law.

Law Society of BC CPD Hours: 6 hours (this course will contain a minimum of 1 hour pertaining to professional responsibility and ethics, client care and relations, and/or practice management)
