Human rights law goes beyond the scope of employment law practice and is constantly evolving. Over the course of two days, you will explore a comprehensive range of human rights law topics presented by diverse speakers.

This conference will include the ever-popular annual case law update and judicial review update. You will walk away with a substantive look at current trends and practical issues to meet the increasingly complex and sophisticated matters arising in this area.

  • get up to date on the latest human rights cases, such as BC (Human Rights Tribunal) v. Gibraltar Mines Ltd., 2023 BCCA 168, Hansman v. Neufeld, 2023 SCC 14, and Gitxaala and Ehattesaht v. HM the King in the Right of BC, 2023 BCSC 1680
  • hear about the latest developments at the BC Human Rights Tribunal and BC Human Rights Commissioners' Office
  • learn about hot topics in such as family status, indigenous identity, and group rights exemptions
