Who should attend: Lawyers practising family law

Learning level: Fundamental/Intermediate

Practising family law in Provincial Court comes with its own set of rules, jurisdictional considerations, and challenges. Benefit from the wisdom of experienced counsel and judges who will share with you effective strategies, tips, and advice that you can apply to your Provincial Court family law files. This course will cover a wide range of procedural, evidentiary, trial preparation, and advocacy topics. Hear an update on the new Provincial Court Family Rules and Forms. You will increase your competence and confidence in handling family law matters in the Provincial Court forum. 

After taking this program, you will:

  • understand how to manage a Provincial Court family file
  • gain knowledge of the issues regarding financial disclosure
  • know how to navigate a child protection case
  • be aware of tools to deal with family violence
  • receive practice tips from family law practitioners

Law Society of BC CPD Hours: 5 hours (this course will contain a minimum of 1 hour pertaining to professional responsibility and ethics, client care and relations, and/or practice management). Please note: The CPD hours of the rebroadcast will either meet or exceed the CPD hours of the original live webinar course.
