About the Course Chairs
Ingrid Tsui is a partner at Alexander Holburn Beaudin + Lang LLP, where she leads the Wills, Estates + Trusts Practice Group as well as the Charities + Non-Profit Practice Group.
Ingrid is ranked by Best Lawyers in Canada in the areas of Trusts and Estates Law and is recommended in the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory in the area of Estate and Tax Planning. She has received her designation as a recognized member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners as a senior practitioner in this field. Ingrid contributes to CLEBC's Annotated Estates Practice and regularly presents on a variety of estate planning, business succession, and estate administration topics.
Amanda Winters is a partner at Farris LLP, in the firm's Family and Estate Litigation groups. She represents clients in both family and estate matters, and has a particular interest in matters where these two areas of law intersect. Amanda has represented clients at all levels of court in BC, as well as courts in other Canadian jurisdictions. She appears frequently in Supreme Court Chambers. She has conducted trials in Provincial Court and Supreme Court, as well as conducted hearings in the Court of Appeal.
Amanda was called to the BC bar in March 2014. Before joining Farris, Amanda clerked at the BC Court of Appeal and worked for a large regional law firm in Vancouver with a focus on family and civil litigation.
On a personal note, Amanda grew up in Kamloops before making Vancouver her home. In her previous lives, Amanda was an English teacher overseas, a synchronized swimming coach, and a movie columnist for an independent newspaper. When not at the office, Amanda spends her spare time with her husband, Jesse, exploring Vancouver's latest and greatest restaurants, and getting lost in books from her eclectic "must read" list.
