Who should attend: Mid to senior lawyers practising in the area of estate planning and administration

Learning level: Intermediate/Advanced

Keep abreast of developing issues in the world of estate planning. This fast paced half day course will touch upon a host of recent legislative changes, best practices in estate planning and solutions to quirky issues that arise each summarized in 15 minute increments.

After taking this program, you will:

  • gain insight into new cases and trends
  • be up to date on medical assistance in dying (MAiD)
  • understand principles of valuation of assets and interests in a discretionary trust
  • be aware of the new trust disclosure rules
  • have answers to practical questions and issues

Law Society of BC CPD Hours: 3.5 hours (a minimum of 30 minutes pertaining to professional responsibility and ethics, client care and relations, and/or practice management)
