The legal profession is a fabulous way to make a difference in the world; however, research shows that many members of the profession are suffering from substance abuse and mental health problems. It is difficult to affect positive change when you yourself are struggling. Lawyers need to make some changes in the way they take care of themselves and in the way that they approach their practices in order to engage with both their personal lives and their practices in a healthier, more fulfilling manner.
In this course, Derek LaCroix, QC will discuss the problem the profession is experiencing and provide guidance on how to develop a well-being practice so that you can become a healthier more satisfied lawyer.
Law Society of BC CPD Hours: 1 hour (a minimum of 1 hour pertaining to professional responsibility and ethics, client care and relations, and/or practice management)
