- lawyers involved in the purchase or sale of businesses

Building on the concepts taught in Introduction to Business Valuations, this course gives participants a more detailed insight into some of the more complex issues associated with business valuations.
At this course, Chartered Business Valuators experienced in working with lawyers will teach you how to review business valuation reports and introduce advanced valuation concepts.
After taking this course, you will:
- be more efficient at reviewing business valuation reports and understanding valuation techniques
- better understand industry specific valuation approaches (e.g., medical doctors, lawyers, brokerages, etc.)
- comprehend the applicability and determination of discounts applied by the valuator in their report (e.g., minority discounts)
- understand valuation considerations that arise in family law, shareholder disputes, and commercial damaged cases
Prerequisites
It is recommended that participants taking this advanced course on business valuations have the following prerequisite knowledge:
Law Society of BC CPD Hours: 2 hours (this course does not contain professional responsibility and ethics, client care and relations, and/or practice management)
