The 2025–2026 edition incorporates amendments and updates to the legislation, rules, practice directions, and summaries of case law to February 15, 2025. The book includes the Spousal Support Advisory Guidelines and summaries of significant decisions under the Family Law Act and the Child Support Guidelines. This edition:

  • contains recent amendments to legislation, including the Family Law Act and Divorce Act, and revisions to the Supreme Court Family Rules, Provincial Court Family Rules, and Court of Appeal Rules
  • now includes the text of the federal Family Orders and Agreements Enforcement Assistance Act and its regulations
  • refers to new case law on the following topics, among others:
    • under the Child Support Guidelines, the effects of the following on the determination of Guideline income: children pursuing post-secondary education; the payor's financial support from their family; corporate income; carrying charges; and employee pensions
