Artificial intelligence is changing legal research, drafting, litigation, client service, and law firm operations.
This series examines practical uses and limitations of AI, implementation in firms of different sizes, professional conduct obligations, and the judicial perspective. Special attention is given to the transition from generative AI to agentic AI systems that can plan and execute multi-step tasks, access systems, and take actions with varying degrees of autonomy. Increased autonomy raises heightened questions of supervision, confidentiality, human approval, auditability, and professional accountability.
Educational progression:
- understand and experience AI
- implement it in legal practice
- examine technological developments and professional conduct duties
- consider the judicial perspective and discuss the profession's path forward
