With special remarks from the Honourable Chief Justice Leonard Marchard and a faculty spanning the range of appellate justices, the Court of Appeal's Registrar, and seasoned appellate counsel (commercial, family, other civil, and criminal), this course is an essential opportunity to build or refresh your knowledge of appellate advocacy and practice in BC.
Join us to learn and discuss the implications of artificial intelligence, the anatomy of successful written and oral submissions, the latest on standards of review, seeking leave to the Supreme Court of Canada, and more.
For those in the Lower Mainland, or for those who can travel to Vancouver for the course date, in-person attendance is strongly encouraged to maximize opportunities for connecting with faculty and fellow practitioners.
Law Society of BC CPD Hours: 6 hours (this course will contain a minimum of 1 hour pertaining to professional responsibility and ethics, client care and relations, and/or practice management)
