Who should attend: Lawyers whose practice includes business or real estate law, protection of assets, creditors remedies, or insolvency

Learning level: Intermediate

When a priority dispute arises, competing claimants and creditors need to jockey for position. Parties must determine where they stand in the long lineup of those waiting to share in the debtor's limited pot of assets. Sorting out these priority rights can be an extremely complicated process.

In this course, you will review the latest developments and determine the priorities of parties in a wide variety of real-life situations.

Law Society of BC CPD Hours: 6 hours (this course will contain a minimum of 1 hour pertaining to professional responsibility and ethics, client care and relations, and/or practice management)

Course Chairs
Aminollah Sabzevari — Department of Justice Canada, Adjunct Professor, Peter A. Allard School of Law, UBC, Vancouver
Kayla K. Strong — Nathanson Schachter & Thompson LLP, Vancouver
