Who should attend: Anyone who wants to gain a better understanding of meeting procedures, or one who chairs or serves on a board, council or committee, or one who may chair contentious meetings

Learning level: All levels

This webinar will be led by Eli Mina, a book author and a seasoned expert on meetings, rules of order, and responsible governance. Eli's pragmatic tools will help you achieve an equal engagement of participants in discussions and debates, a responsible use of time, and informed decision-making.

As a result of this workshop, you will:

  • have a practical understanding of rules of order and how they should be applied
  • expand your focus from the technical rules to what they are supposed to achieve
  • be better able to advise your clients on resolving procedural disputes

What past participants said about the workshop:

"You successfully turned a potentially dry and boring subject into a relevant and interesting one..."

"Thanks to your guidance, our AGM was shorter, simpler, and less adversarial."

“As a new mayor with a new council, we have greatly benefited from your sage advice. You taught us the art of converting very contentious issues into learning opportunities for all.”

PLEASE NOTE: After many years of offering "Robert's Rules of Order - Demystified," the name of the course going forward is now "Meetings, Rules, and Responsible Governance." The new title more accurately reflects the course focus away from the pure technical application of the rules, in favour of using rules as an enabler of good meetings and responsible governance. During the course, references will be made to relevant rules from several rule books. Copies of Robert's Rules of Order will no longer be provided.
