Who should attend: Lawyers interested in improving client relationships and communication with clients

Learning level: All levels

Lawyers are too often perceived by clients as impediments to business or as threats. This plays out not only in litigation but also for business lawyers. Developments in neuroscience shed light on how the brain is triggered and proved a guide to understanding how to minimize this threat in order to maximize receptivity.

In this presentation, you will learn:

  • the neuroscience framework for understanding what happens in our brains during communication and how we can get in our own way
  • the practical application of this framework to our communication and relationship building activities with clients
  • practical strategies to apply and tactics to implement for increasing client openness and receptivity to your input, and for establishing your role as a trusted and valued advisor

The speaker will translate the breakthroughs from neuroscience to day-to-day legal practice, and give specific examples from both litigation and solicitor practices.
