About the Course Chairs
Ann Halkett is the Director of SOLVED eDiscovery Services, a division of Alexander Holburn. She holds the Association of Certified E-Discovery Specialists certification (CEDS) and was part of the team that drafted the ACEDS Canada certification manual and exam. Ann is the Past President of the ACEDS Vancouver chapter.

She has Certificates in Privacy and Cybersecurity Law and E-Discovery, Information Governance and Privacy from Osgoode Hall Law School, and a Certificate in Project Management from UBC Sauder School of Business in addition to a BA from the University of Victoria, a certificate in Journalism from Langara College, and paralegal certificates from Vancouver Community College. (Ann worked as a reporter before becoming a paralegal.) She co-created and taught the "Electronic Evidence and Litigation Technology" course in the Paralegal Program at Vancouver Community College. She is the past chair of the BC Legal Management Litigation Technology and eDiscovery Subsection, and the Information Technology Subsection, and has presented at many CLE's, and conferences.

David Wotherspoon is a civil litigator in Vancouver. With a focus on corporate and commercial disputes, David's practice encompasses all areas of litigation and dispute resolution. He has extensive experience in matters that relate to injunctions and Anton Piller orders, defamation and free speech, intellectual property and software disputes, crisis management, and shareholder disputes. David is extensively engaged in pro bono cases, taking on several opportunities to represent those who would otherwise have limited access to the justice system. 

David was named one of Canada's Top 25 Most Influential Lawyers in the Corporate Commercial category by Canadian Lawyer for 2018. In 2019, David received a Lexpert Zenith Award Celebrating Change Agents in Law, and the Harry Rankin QC Pro Bono Award.

After practicing at large firms for 30 years, David started Wotherspoon Law in February of 2023.
