Who should attend: Managing partners and personnel who work in law office management
Learning level: Intermediate/Advanced
If the past three years have taught us anything, it's that law firms have to be ready to change if they want to survive and thrive.
Perhaps you need to transition your law firm:
- away from a declining practice area (i.e., like PI or conveyancing);
- from founders to the next generation; or
- from one business structure to another (i.e., from a multi-lawyer firm to a sole practitioner, into a merger, into a multi-location remote firm, or another configuration).
This session will provide information on how to make those changes.
Course chair Heather Gray-Grant has helped more than 100 firms to thoughtfully and efficiently transition into more stable, lucrative practices. While many of these firms felt forced to change by circumstances, it's more productive when firms strategically decide to shift just because it's the right business decision.
Whether your hand is being forced, or you'd like to get in the driver's seat, this session will give you lots of practical tips on how to make the right changes, at the right time, in the right way, and for the right reasons. It's not guesswork—it's strategy.
If you have to transition your firm, or if you think you might want to transition your firm in some way in the future, this session is for you.
Law Society of BC CPD Hours: 1.5 hours (this course will contain a minimum of 1 hour pertaining to professional responsibility and ethics, client care and relations, and/or practice management). Please note: The CPD hours of the rebroadcast will either meet or exceed the CPD hours of the original live webinar course.
