About the Course Chairs
Sunny Sanghera is a Chartered Professional Accountant, Chartered Accountant, and a Chartered Business Valuator.
Since joining Blair Mackay Mynett Valuations Inc. in January 2021, Sunny has specialized in business valuations and has prepared reports in the context of family law matters, shareholder disputes, corporate reorganizations, divestures and estate planning. Some of the industries involved in those valuation assignments have included, construction, manufacturing, professional services, real estate, retail, software, and wholesale distribution.
Sunny has also been involved in litigation support services to prepare expert reports to determine the income available for child and spousal support purposes and quantification of income or economic loss claims.
Prior to joining BMM, Sunny worked for a boutique business valuations and litigation support services firm based in Ontario. During this time, Sunny also prepared business valuation reports in the context of family law matters, corporate reorganizations, and estate planning.
During the five years to August 2019, Sunny co-founded and operated a public accounting practice in the Greater Toronto Area, providing assurance, taxation, accounting, and advisory services to individuals and small-to-medium sized businesses. He also worked for an Ontario based regional public accounting firm servicing small-to-medium sized businesses across various industries. From 2008 to 2012, Sunny worked for Deloitte & Touche LLP's Toronto office in their Audit and Assurance Group auditing public and private entities.
Farida Sukhia has been a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada and the Chartered Professional Accountants of BC since 2002. She has also been a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (Delaware) since 2000. Farida obtained her CBV designation in 2007 from the Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators.
Farida joined Blair Mackay Mynett Valuations Inc. in August 2006 and has prepared valuation reports in the context of family law matters, shareholder disputes, corporate reorganizations, acquisitions and divestitures and estate planning. She was also involved in the valuation of intangible assets for purchase price allocations. Some of the industries involved in those valuation assignments have included agriculture, construction, forestry, healthcare, insurance brokerage, manufacturing, professional services (accounting, engineering, legal, medical, etc.), real estate, restaurant and hospitality, retail, software, transportation, and wholesale distribution.
Farida has also been involved in various litigation support services, including the quantification of income or economic loss claims and the determination of income available for child and spousal support purposes.
Prior to joining BMM, Farida spent a year working for PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in their Dispute Analysis and Valuations Practice. Prior to her time in PwC's Dispute Analysis and Valuations Practice, Farida worked in their Audit and Assurance Group for over four years. During this time, Farida gained significant experience in the high-tech sector. She also became familiar with US GAAP during a year-long secondment to San Jose, California and Houston, Texas.
Lucas Terpkosh is a Chartered Business Valuator with over 10 years of professional experience providing business valuation services. Lucas joined Blair Mackay Mynett Valuations Inc. in April 2017. Prior to joining BMM, Lucas worked at various international accounting firms where he specialized in valuation and litigation support services.
Lucas specializes in business valuations for litigation matters such as matrimonial disputes, shareholder disputes and wills variation claims, as well as for non-litigation matters such as corporate reorganizations and other estate planning initiatives. He has also prepared expert reports regarding the income available to a spouse for child and spousal support purposes (typically referred to as Guideline Income reports).
Lucas has been a member of CBV Institute's Audit and Finance Committee since 2018 and was named the CBV Institute's Ambassador of the Year in 2023.
Lucas has been on the Board of Directors of the Vancouver International Arbitration Centre since 2023.
