Who should attend: Legal counsel and mediators wishing to expand their expertise in handling complex and unprecedented disputes in the workplace. This course may also be of interest to Human Resource professionals.

Learning level: All levels

Human Resources personnel are finding themselves in an ever more complex legal landscape. Does the #MeToo movement's emphasis on mandating a respectful workplace require the type of disciplinary remedies typically accompanied with findings of bullying or harassment? How can an employer satisfy management's interest to return workers safely to the worksite in a pandemic? Is reticence by a worker to return to the worksite really about concerns with personal health or public safety or is there an undisclosed and unmet interest at play?

Do these cases require investigation or mediation or both?

Join us in tackling these vexing questions from the perspective of employer counsel and a neutral party. You will leave this substantive and skills-based course with a better appreciation of the current issues facing your human resources clients and how you can be of assistance in helping steer them towards solutions.
