Learning level: All levels

How would you like to snap your fingers, and your colleagues and clients would instantly agree with your position? It may not be that easy, but you can dramatically improve your chances for success if you understand how people make decisions and what causes them to act.

This interactive program draws on the latest scientific research to illustrate how you can influence lawyers, prospects, and colleagues to see things your way without resorting to manipulation. Plus, you'll leave with practical ideas that you can apply right away.

Specifically, you will be able to:

  • discover the elements you must have to win over any skeptical mind
  • utilize the four key drivers of persuasion to gain buy-in and acceptance of your ideas
  • overcome the common mistakes most lawyers make when trying to change someone's mind
  • leave much of the conventional wisdom about influence behind (most of it doesn't work anyway)

Please note: this course is offered remotely through a Zoom platform.  A device equipped with a camera and microphone will be recommended to participate.

Law Society of BC CPD Hours: 3 hours (this course does not contain professional responsibility and ethics, client care and relations, and/or practice management)
