Who should attend: All lawyers

Learning level: All levels

As lawyers, confidence seems to be a professional expectation. Clients expect it, colleagues and partners expect it, and certainly judges expect it in the courtroom. But sometimes, to BE confident, is easier said than done, especially in the early years of practice. The learning curve is steep and you can become overwhelmed by self-doubt, creating stress, fear, worry, and anxiety that can be detrimental to your mental health and your practice.

In this course, our speakers will:

  • explore how confidence relates to fundamental skills of legal practice such as preparation and decision-making
  • present frameworks for healthier self-talk, a better mindset, and more effective communication
  • give tips on how to combat imposter syndrome, develop self-trust and self-compassion, manage anxiety, and become more resilient

Join us for this practical discussion on how to build and manage your confidence levels to boost well-being and practice law better.

Law Society of BC CPD Hours: 1.5 hours (this course will include a minimum of 1.5 hours pertaining to professional responsibility and ethics, client care and relations, and/or practice management).
