Who should attend: Lawyers and staff looking for smarter tech security strategies in this post-covid world

Learning level: All levels

Since the pandemic, practicing anywhere at any time is a reality. That reality also comes with responsibility and risks! Under Rule 3.3-1 lawyers must take reasonable precautions to protect client confidential information and data that is in their custody!

In this program, we will go over the pitfalls of mobile, cloud, and general everyday law office computing in PLAIN ENGLISH … no techno-jargon! We will learn about cloud computing options and address how to safely store documents, data, and programs in the cloud and on mobile devices. We will discuss security vulnerabilities related to documents, emails, and metadata associated with those files. We will also discuss how to properly delete client data, assign passwords, and dispose of computer equipment while protecting client privacy. Finally, we will talk about work-from-home considerations stemming from the pandemic, whether you are working from home part-time, full-time, or starting to work at the office again.
