Who should attend: This program is ideal for managing partners, executive committee members, senior administrative management, owners within five years of retirement, practice group leaders (or those wishing to create practice groups), and partners interested in helping to better prepare their firm for the future
Learning level: All levels
- Many law firms are adjusting their practice mix to reduce dependence on PI and to meet increased competition from an influx of estate litigators, family lawyers, and employment law lawyers.
- Many senior lawyers want to retire, leaving firms to grapple with who will attract and do the work in their place.
- Retiring owners want compensation for the transfer of their firm, but find that it holds little transferrable value.
While each of these situations could be dealt with in the 11th hour, it is far more profitable and easier on a firm to prepare well in advance. Through this session, learn how to undertake more regular strategic and annual planning to better prepare for these specific shifts over time. This enables the firm (and everyone in it) to have smoother transitions and strengthens the firm for a more profitable exit strategy for the owners.
