Who should attend: This course is designed for lawyers who are developing a practice in the area of wills, estates, and trust litigation. This course may also be of interest to general pactitioners.

Your first few estate litigation files don't have to be stressful. This basics course will provide you with the fundamental building blocks to litigate a wills and estates case, and to build a practice in this area. Experienced estate litigators will share with you essential information, practical guidance, and insider tips to save you time spent on trial by error. You will increase your knowledge and competence in a range of substantive and procedural estate litigation topics so you can successfully conduct your practice.

After taking this program, you will:

  • gain tools to assist you in conducting an estate litigation file
  • know about recent trends in wills variation and undue influence and lack of capacity issues
  • have a greater understanding of issues that may arise after settlement
  • be aware of recent s. 58 and s. 59 cases and trends
