Learning level: All levels
This course aims to provide information and support for professional parents—specifically, lawyers who are actively parenting children through the changing world during the pandemic.
The current COVID-19 pandemic continues to change much of our daily lives, and for many of us, we have seen our professional and parenting lives collide. Increasingly, and for longer than initially imagined, we remain working from home, while at the same time, we are actively parenting our children through life, new kinds of schooling, and everything in between.
This new blend of working and parenting is challenging and the skills we use for professional success may not always work smoothly at home. In some families, one parent can carry the bulk of the parenting responsibilities, creating additional tensions. Many professional parents are dealing with more than ever before and so it is key to find good, relevant support.
In this one-hour course, we will explore:
- having difficult conversations with our children, co-parents, and colleagues about the new world
- setting up simple and effective systems for both structure and flexibility for you and your kids
- considering what you, as a professional and parent, need, and what might be holding you back
