Who should attend: Lawyers practicing in the area of Aboriginal law, in private practice, industry, and government; others who focus on Aboriginal law issues will also benefit, including Indigenous organizations, in-house counsel, and law students.

Practical issues arising from the COVID-19 pandemic complicate the governing of First Nations. The morning will focus on challenges that arise in applying federal and provincial legislation to Treaty First Nations and Indian Act Ba and nds, and in the application of privacy law specifically during a pandemic. After lunch, we are pleased to present our Keynote Speakers, The Honourable Steven L. Point and Brenda Butterworth-Carr, Assistant Deputy Minister and Director of Police Services. In the afternoon, the focus moves to procedural issues around bylaw and First Nations Law enforcement and the concerns of First Nations supported by RCMP and local police forces regarding prosecution.
