Who should attend: lawyers practising in all areas wanting a refresher in the area of bankruptcy, insolvency and restructuring; lawyers, particularly those advising businesses, who need to know what tools are in the toolbox for helping their clients navigate stormy financial waters, and how a bankruptcy or other insolvency proceeding affects their clients' rights; may also be of interest to licensed insolvency trustees and lenders
Learning level: Intermediate
To paraphrase John Lennon (and others), insolvency is what happens while you're making other plans. The turmoil created by COVID-19 has turned all of us into insolvency practitioners, like it or not. We want to dedicate this one-hour session to answering your most pressing COVID-19-related questions, to help you help your clients minimize risk and avoid bad decisions in these difficult times.
Attendees will be asked to provide their questions in advance of the course so we can structure the discussion around the issues that are of most importance to you. It is prudent to know how bankruptcy and insolvency issues are affecting your practice at this time. Please join us for a current, practical update.
Law Society of BC CPD Hours: 1 hour (no hours will pertain to professional responsibility and ethics, client care and relations, and/or practice management)
