This is originally a BC Paralegal Association (BCPA) event. This course is critical for anyone that works in family law. We will look at the definition of "family violence" which includes all elements of physical and emotional violence and abuse, how to identify indicators of family violence, and be aware of what screening tools to use. We will also look at recent decisions as to how the courts are analyzing these cases. Paralegals are a key component of the legal team on a family law matter and work closely with family law clients. This course is imperative for all family law paralegals.
