Tackling taxes: an essential element of estate practice success

Whether you are assisting a client with estate planning or advising an executor of his or her duties in an estate administration, you will come face to face with a multitude of tax issues. To properly advise clients, it is important to have a fundamental understanding of the basic tax rules integral to your practice area.
This course will analyze common scenarios that estate practitioners face, and the tax issues that arise. You will learn about basic tax exemptions, the attribution rules, taxation of estates, charitable giving, and much more!
With this basic framework, you will be equipped to identify and warn your clients of potential issues and know when it is time to seek expert advice.
After taking this program, you will:
- understand the fundamentals of tax in estate planning and the fundamentals of taxation of trusts
- gain knowledge of tax issues with respect to entrepreneurs and children as beneficiaries
- understand probate issues and charitable giving
- be aware of tax issues surrounding executors
