Become an expert at expert evidence in one day!

Last Kick at the Can 2018
Wednesday, December 12, 2018
9:00 am - 4:00 pm via webinar

(Original Course Date: May 11, 2018)

Who should attend: All litigation counsel, both civil and criminal.

Learning level: Fundamental

In much of 20th century litigation, the established facts do not speak for themselves. Increasingly, you need help from expert evidence to bring out the larger picture and the implications of your client's facts for litigation. As litigation counsel, you must have the tools to present these specialized facets of your client's case in their best light. This course will prepare you to work with expert evidence so you can effectively choose, brief, call, and attack expert witnesses. You will develop the ability to deal with all of the different dimensions of expert evidence.

After taking this course, you will be able to:

  • understand how expert evidence can support your theory of the case
  • identify critical issues in managing your experts and their evidence
  • meet the formal requirements for admissibility of expert evidence
  • avoid ethical and practice pitfalls around expert evidence
  • be effective in marshaling your own expert's evidence and challenging the opposing expert's evidence
