Join us for a follow-up session to the CLE-TV: Transitioning to the New BC Societies Act which was held on March 2, 2016. BC's new Societies Act and Societies Regulation came into force on November 28, 2016. It replaced the Society Act and made significant changes to the incorporation, governance, and ongoing operations of societies in BC. Martha Rans and Michael Blatchford will be joining us again to talk about their experience with the new legislation so far and will dedicate half of the session to discussing your experiences and answering your questions about the Societies Act

At this course you will:

  • get an update on the transition process under the new Societies Act
  • learn more about member-funded societies and whether your society is eligible to become one
  • find out what to look out for when adopting the Schedule 1 bylaws
  • discuss your experiences with the transition and share any questions you may have
