Learning level: All levels

Infertility is on the rise; assisted reproductive technologies are improving; queer families are having more babies. The result is that many more children are being conceived with the help of fertility clinics, through donor insemination, egg donors, and/or gestational carriers. In addition, the Family Law Act provides that a baby may have up to five legal parents. Come to the first-ever CLEBC course about how the law in BC addresses assisted reproduction.

After taking this course you will...

  • be able to advise prospective parents looking to have a child using assisted reproductive technologies
  • be aware of the best practices and checklists for drafting agreements
  • know the pitfalls—understand where problems may arise
