Who should attend: All lawyers, anyone working with lawyers, anyone interested in finding out more about AD(H)D

Learning level: All levels

Adult AD(H)D is "on the rise," with increasing numbers of adults now seeking assessment or self-identifying with their lived experience of Attention Deficient (Hyperactivity) Disorder. Many of those are, in fact, lawyers.

In this webinar, psychotherapist and former lawyer Erin Peters shares her experience researching about and working with many lawyers who are exploring this question. Erin will cover:

  • what AD(H)D is, and some of the common markers of the condition
  • what AD(H)D is not, and some of the misconceptions surrounding it
  • "masking" and other compensations that hide the signs of AD(H)D
  • shared experiences of lawyers and other adults with AD(H)D, including imposter syndrome, time/money losses, compassion fatigue, and burnout
  • how AD(H)D shows up at home
  • options for assessment and management of AD(H)D

The speaking portion of this webinar will last approximately 45 minutes and will conclude with a live 15-minute question-and-answer forum for all participants.

Law Society of BC CPD Hours: 1 hour (this course will include a minimum of 1 hour pertaining to professional responsibility and ethics, client care and relations, and/or practice management)
