In a world where many people are not able to have their legal representation needs met, there is a growing recognition that lawyers and their clients need to move beyond the traditional full-scope retainer agreement. Enter the twin concepts of unbundled legal services and limited retainer agreements.
That is all fine and well, but do such arrangements expose the lawyer to greater risk of client dissatisfaction or complaints to The Law Society?
Unbundling is not nearly as risky and dangerous as some may think; but there are practical and ethical considerations that cannot be ignored.
This course will examine the risks, the rewards, and the best practices that will help you make unbundled and limited retainers a valuable and profitable part of your practice, while at the same time helping to increase access to quality legal services by those who may not be able to obtain it otherwise.
Law Society of BC CPD Hours: 3 hours (this course will contain a minimum of 3 hours pertaining to professional responsibility and ethics, client care and relations, and/or practice management). Please note: The CPD hours of the rebroadcast will either meet or exceed the CPD hours of the original live webinar course.
