When aging, death and divorce intersect, they bring out some important legal issues. In this cross-disciplinary course, we assist family, elder and estate law practitioners to anticipate and plan for unpleasant yet inevitable legal issues that can arise in the interplay between aging, death and divorce (such as income/pensions, capacity, definition of a spouse, trusts, and reproductive property).
After taking this program, you will:
- understand the intersection between WESA and FLA
- be up-to-date on capacity issues
- gain information on the definition of spouse
- know how to use trusts in this context
- be aware of reproductive material issues
- understand securing income for old age
Law Society of BC CPD Hours: 5 hours (this course will include a minimum of 1 hour of professional responsibility and ethics, client care and relations, and/or practice management). Please note: The CPD hours of the rebroadcast will either meet or exceed the CPD hours of the original live webinar course.
