Who should attend: Corporate paralegals and legal support staff, articling students and all those who advise, volunteer for, or work with charities or not-for-profits: specifically lawyers, directors and officers, executive directors, accountants, and trustees.

Learning level: Fundamental/Intermediate

Societies incorporated in BC prior to November 28, 2018 have until November 28, 2018 to transition under the BC Societies Act. Do you need to transition a society but don't know where to begin? In this course, experienced faculty will guide you through the preparation and filing of documents and provide you with checklists, tips, prescribed forms, and precedents.

You will learn about:

  • designation as a member-funded society
  • preparing your materials for transition
  • altering your bylaws for transition
  • filing on Societies Online on approval of your transition materials
  • post-transition alterations

Join us to find out the information that you need to gather, issues you need to consider, and documents that you need to prepare.

This is the third course in this year's three-part Corporate Procedures 2018 Series: Working with BC Societies. Other course in the series are:
