This program will provide an overview of Canada's current sanctions measures, Canada's sanctions toolkit, scenarios that lawyers may encounter in practice, red flags for attempts to circumvent sanctions, information on exemptions, permits and certificates, enforcement mechanisms, and best practices on how to conduct thorough due diligence to remain compliant with sanctions regulations and comply with a lawyer's professional obligations.  

Law Society of BC CPD Hours: 1 hour (this course will contain a minimum of 1 hour pertaining to professional responsibility and ethics, client care and relations, and/or practice management)
