Who should attend: Lawyers practicing in the area of family law

Learning level: Fundamental

This course explores challenging and often contentious family law topics with a practical focus. It examines s. 211 reports, relocation, jurisdiction, and other complex issues that arise in high conflict family law practice.

Participants will explore strategies for managing high conflict cases and other challenges when emotions run high and/or safety concerns are present. Participants will also build the skills needed to navigate difficult high conflict family law matters with confidence and care.

After taking this program, you will:

  • understand what high conflict is
  • gain insight into jurisdiction and parenting
  • be aware of the collaborative process
  • gain tips on how to manage behaviours in high conflict cases
  • understand s. 211 reports

Law Society of BC CPD Hours: 6 hours (this course will contain a minimum of 1 hour pertaining to professional responsibility and ethics, client care and relations, and/or practice management)
