Who should attend: Labour and management lawyers, arbitrators and other adjudicators, union representatives, labour relations and human resources practitioners, and all others interested in labour relations topics

Learning level: Fundamental/Intermediate

Whether you are on the management or union side, understanding the perspective of the other is key to giving good advice and making good decisions. Benefit by learning from faculty from both sides of the bargaining table as they discuss key developments and issues in labour law.

In addition to the annual Labour Relations Board Update and beloved Labour Case Law Update, this year's course will feature:

  • a lunch panel of industry experts, Delayne Sartison, KC and David Tarasoff, who will share insights about working with the healthcare industry
  • veteran labour lawyers, Don Jordan, KC and John Rogers, KC, who will review major developments in Labour Law over the past 50 years
  • a practical overview and update on Part 5 matters under the Code
  • best practices for resolving Collective Agreement disputes outside the traditional adjudicative model

Join us to get up to date on the latest Charter, privacy, human rights, arbitration, Labour Relations Board, and judicial review issues, all in one day.

Law Society of BC CPD Hours: 6.5 hours (this course will contain a minimum of 2 hours pertaining to professional responsibility and ethics, client care and relations, and/or practice management)
