Lawyers in BC represent clients in a multicultural and multilingual environment. Litigation lawyers, across practice areas, often must conduct examinations for discovery and trials where witnesses give evidence through an interpreter.
In this two-hour session, panelists Scott Turner, David Taylor, and Nerissa Yan will provide their insight into the legal, ethical, and practical challenges and considerations on how to effectively collect and test evidence through the use of interpreters.
This course has ethics and professionalism components.
Law Society of BC CPD Hours: 2 hours (this course will contain a minimum of .5 hours pertaining to professional responsibility and ethics, client care and relations, and/or practice management)
