And, if you know a young lawyer who does not remember and has no knowledge of Irving Younger, you must come and bring that young lawyer with you!

Learning level: All levels

An update of Irving Younger's classic presentation
Irving Younger’s classic presentation on evidence law is reborn in video form and offered with the live commentary and a shared passion and real-world practicality by Professor Steve Easton. Evidence for Trial Lawyers spans the chasm between theoretical possibility and everyday reality. This program focuses on fundamental concepts that you face in every trial. It also shines a light into some overlooked nooks and crannies that can help you introduce the proof you need and shield your client from improper material your opponent will try to admit. After this program, you will enter your next trial or hearing with the confidence that you are armed with a solid working knowledge of the one area of the law that each trial lawyer needs to master—evidence.

Here are some program highlights:

  • learn classic and contemporary approaches to applying the rules of evidence from two respected all-time experts
  • reconcile evidence law with the modern considerations of the craft of advocacy
  • be entertained and discover valuable practical tips that will benefit your direct and cross-examination

Law Society of BC CPD Hours: 6 hours; 7 hours if you also attend the optional session. If you attend the course plus the optional session, you will obtain a minimum of 1 hour of professional responsibility and ethics, client care and relations, and/or practice management.
