Uncommon knowledge about managing the most common form of evidence!
Affidavits are the most important and most common form of evidence that a litigator will ever encounter or use. In this intensive half-day program, expert litigators will take you through: how not to draft an affidavit; how to dissect an affidavit from the other side; how to tell your client's story as governed by law, practice, ethics, and the rules of evidence; and how to avoid common mistakes. While you often learn best by making mistakes, here you can avoid embarrassment and potentially an award of costs, letting experienced counsel and an experienced judge of the Supreme Court of BC take you through prime examples of improper affidavits, and in the process teach you exactly what not to do. Do not miss this unique opportunity to learn how to master this essential skill set under the guidance of experienced counsel and judges of the Supreme Court of BC and BC Court of Appeal.

Law Society of BC CPD Hours: 3 hours (a minimum of 30 minutes will involve aspects of professional responsibility and ethics, client care and relations, and/or practice management)
