Who should attend: All those wishing to enhance their insight and skills in negotiation and mediation. This course is essential for new family mediators and those attending mediations as counsel.
Learning level: Fundamental
This course will introduce participants to the theory and practice of negotiation and mediation. It will also give participants an understanding of the nature and source of conflict in the context of family dispute resolution. For those wishing to become Family Law Mediators under the Family Law Act, this is the first course in our 80-hour curriculum.
*DISCLAIMER: In order to receive a certificate of completion at the end of the course, learners are required to participate fully in the course. "Full participation" is in the faculty's sole discretion. Activities such as reading the paper, watching videos on the computer, not being present, engaging in phone calls, and disrupting the class with irrelevant activities will demonstrate a lack of full participation.
