About the Course Chairs
Jeffrey Rose was called to the bar in 1984 and shortly thereafter joined M. Edward Mortimer, Q.C. in the practice of family law, which has always been Jeff's specialized area of practice. In 2004 he was appointed Queen's Counsel by the Honourable Wally Oppal, Q.C., Attorney General of BC. He was later awarded the BC Leaders in Learning Award by the Continuing Legal Education Society of BC for exceptional contributions to the profession. Jeff has co-chaired and contributed to over 60 family law courses and conferences. He has been on the Editorial Board of the BC Family Practice Manual and Financial Issues in Family Law. He is currently on the Editorial Board of the Family Law Sourcebook for BC. Jeff's professional focus is on the financial aspects of family law, including spousal and child support issues.
Meghan Selinger was called to the bar in 2005. She is a family lawyer practicing at Hamilton Fabbro in Vancouver. Meghan is an accredited Family Law Mediator and a qualified Collaborative Divorce Practitioner. Meghan is the past-chair of the CBA Family Law Vancouver Subsection after having been chair for two years. She is also a member of the Trial Lawyers Association of BC. Meghan was an elected member of Provincial Council (Vancouver County) for the CBA. In 2014, she co-taught the course on Family Law at UBC, Faculty of Law. She is the author of the 2011 and 2012 Family Law Sourcebook for BC updates and has contributed to the Law Society Checklists for Family Law as well as the BC Family Law Practice Manual. She has been a guest lecturer at PLTC, CLEBC courses, PBLI courses, as well as other guest presentations.
