Referencing CLEBC’s British Columbia Real Estate Practice Manual, the expert faculty will take you through the essential issues in real estate practice and show you how to build a strong foundation in real estate law. This course will provide a thorough review of statutes, e-filing, drafting a purchase contract, tax issues, due diligence, closing procedures, undertakings, and what to do when things go wrong. You will take away tips and advice to turn theory into practice and pull it all together with success.

About the Course Chairs
Sergio Custodio is Co-Leader of the Firm’s Real Estate Law group and Leader of the Real Estate Law group in Vancouver. He advises clients on a broad range of business matters, with a focus on real estate, infrastructure, and commercial transactions. Sergio is sought out for his ability to consistently close even the most complicated and fast-paced transactions from leasing, financings, acquisitions, and dispositions to development, investment structures, and project development agreements.
Craig Shirreff leads the Real Property and Planning Group at McCarthy Tétrault LLP’s Vancouver office. Craig advises clients in a number of different industries on all aspects of commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, development, structuring, leasing and financing. He appears in the current editions of The Best Lawyers in Canada and the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory as a leading real estate lawyer. Craig sits on the editorial advisory board of the CLEBC British Columbia Real Estate Practice Manual and the legal professions advisory committee of the Land Title & Survey Authority.
