Who should attend: Lawyers, in-house counsel, corporate solicitors, real estate appraisers, consultants, and the BC Assessment Authority. This course may also be of interest to members of the Canadian Property Tax Association, and lawyers for municipalities and First Nations.

As property assessments continue to soar, valuation and taxation issues are increasingly becoming a concern to your clients. As their advisor, you face the daunting challenge of providing advice on this narrow but growing area of the law. This one-day course is designed to provide you with the most up-to-date information and alert you to the most controversial issues. The exceptional faculty will explain the issues involved and put the legislation, common law, and board rulings into a practical and helpful context.

At this course, you will:

  • gain a greater understanding of common issues and pitfalls regarding property assessments
  • be updated on recent case law and implications for your clients
  • hear from experienced lawyers on a wide range of relevant topics and best practices in property assessment appeals
