Wills and Estates Basics for Paralegals is a perfect primer for paralegals who are new to the area of wills & estates or those in need of a refresher since WESA took effect. You will learn about drafting estate planning documents such as wills, powers of attorney, and representation agreements. The course will also cover probate and estate administration procedures including estate/representation grants, requisite forms and checklists, and the process of accounting and distribution.

After taking this course you will...

  • return to your office with a comprehensive view of the wills and estates practice
  • understand the reasons for registry decisions
  • have the knowledge you need to confidently handle both estate administration and estate planning files

Law Society of BC CPD Hours: 6 hours (a minimum of 1 hour will involve aspects of professional responsibility and ethics, client care and relations, and/or practice management)
