Learning level: Fundamental/Intermediate
Whether you are assisting a client with estate planning or advising an executor of his or her duties in an estate administration, you will come face to face with a multitude of tax issues. To properly advise clients, it is important to have a fundamental understanding of the basic tax rules which are integral to your practice area. In addition, there have been a number of changes, and pending changes, in this practice area.
This course will break down the pertinent tax laws into simple principles for you to understand—topics will include basic tax exemptions, the attribution rules, taxation of estates, charitable giving, and much more! With this basic framework, you will be equipped to identify and warn your clients of potential issues and know when it is time to seek expert advice.

- be up-to-date on the legislative changes in this area
