Who should attend: Experienced conveyancing professionals including paralegals, legal assistants, and other legal support staff; the course may also be of interest to lawyers practicing in the area of residential conveyancing and to real estate agents.

Conveyancing is like the English language—there is an exception to every rule. Keeping knowledgeable in your busy practice will make you an invaluable asset to your firm. In this course, our senior faculty will focus on advanced topics faced by conveyancers every day, including corporations, title insurance, vendor issues, private mortgages, foreclosures, developer's and lender's perspectives, title defects, power of attorney, builder’s liens, escrow closing, and many more practice points. A senior conveyancer will be on hand to answer any questions and comment on her experience with many of the topics that will be discussed throughout the day.
After taking this course you will...
- recognize and avoid the most common e-filing defects
- understand issues around content and use of powers of attorney in the land title registry
- have a detailed understanding of the CBA Standard Undertakings for mortgage discharges and the requirements at 5 days, 30 days, and 60 days after closing
- be able to convey the title of a foreclosed property
